Arya
Sometimes, I catch your smile
In the little square frame of my heart
My radiant beam
And play hide and seek with your memory
You light up my sky with a million joules
Of orange and ginger
Filling my thoughts with your lure
Like that of a black butterfly or a blue moth
Hovering humorously near a willow tree
And, like a ghost dazed by the sudden bright
I stand there in a trance, feeling my cheeks glow
Paying no heed to the faces in the crowd
Or their screaming sounds
Happily cloaked in the veil of your innocence
My radiant beam
I have been keeping my head down
And my eyes pointed south at my two left feet
Marching in and out of parades
Hoping not to stray far away from this place
Yet somehow be close to you
I have been learning secretly to speed up time
Sacrificing whole hours for just one brief glimpse
Of your darling antics on my silver screen
Looking beyond the immediate burn
And into the break of a brand new dawn
When I can gather you in my arms again
But, until then, I’ll keep catching your smile
In the little square frame of my heart
Storing you dangerously close to my fire
Playing hide and seek with your memory
